Ambassador Adebusuyi Olutayo Olumadewa is a social transformer, sustainability advocate, and Founder of DoTheDream Youth Development Initiative (DoTheDream YDI), an organization in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), with representation in New York, Geneva, and Vienna.

Founded in 2005, DoTheDream YDI operates within the social development space, advancing Education, Gender Equality, Environment, Health, Energy, and Climate Action. The organization designs and implements programs that model inclusion, innovation, and inspiration to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since inception, the initiative has impacted over 199,600 individuals through structured leadership development, skills empowerment, and sustainability-driven interventions.

Ambassador Olumadewa spearheaded the establishment of the Leadership Library, which serves as the SDGs Resource Center for government schools across Africa. The inaugural library was launched at Ayedeere Ajibola Senior High School in Lagos, Nigeria. The initiative provides underserved students with access to quality educational resources and promotes a transformational developmental cycle of Skill → Service → Solution → Sustainability, converting knowledge into measurable impact.

Recognizing the transformative role of girls in development, he initiated the Girls Are Asset Project, including the flagship Girls in Energy.

Since 2013, these initiatives have empowered over 8,100 girls with leadership capacity, entrepreneurship exposure, and technical skills in Agriculture, Energy, Technology, and related sectors. In 2023, he formally expanded the Girls in Energy Project to promote structured career pathways in renewable energy and the circular economy. The project is designed to bridge the Gender Gap in the Energy Industry and is strategically positioned to operate through career (linear and non-linear) competitions, conferences, camps, and community development platforms, enabling the development of 10MW renewable energy mini-grids for communities across the Global South.

He is also the visionary behind Women’s Role in Africa of Our Dreams, a consortium of professionals investing their expertise toward sustainable continental growth.

Ambassador Olumadewa has convened over 179 leadership summits and seminars for schools, governments, and private sector actors, integrating Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (ESTEAM) into development strategies. His international engagements include speaking at high-level sessions at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and organizing high-level side events within sustainability conferences, Financing for Development processes, and the

Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), as well as engagements connected to the World Bank CSPF, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, UNESCO, WTO, and related global platforms.

In 2025, he led his team to host the organization’s first meeting at the World Bank Group Civil Society Policy Forum titled “From Classroom to Career: Scaling the Girls in Energy Project for Industry Entry and Retention.” The session featured World Bank Representatives to the United Nations as speakers, alongside Vint Cerf (widely recognized as the Father of the Internet), Dr. Blessin Ayemhere (CEO of Evaac Energy), and Claudia Segre (President of Global Thinking Foundation) as key contributors.

In 2025, DoTheDream YDI was elected to the Board of the 78-year-old Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations, where he serves as Lead Representative for the Regional Committee in Africa and Co-Chair of the Committee on Dignity.
